Basic Overview

• Nine Gold Medals is a narrative poem (a poem that tells a story) by David Roth . Nine athletes run a race at the Special Olympics . The smallest athlete falls . All eight others stop, go back, and help him . Then all nine walk together to the finish line and every athlete wins a gold medal .
