Ex 1.1, 1 (ii) What are the coordinates of D1? To find the coordinates, we always use the format (x, y). As we found in the previous step, D₁ is at the 8 mark on the horizontal x-axis. This means our x-coordinate is 8. Since the point sits directly on the x-axis and hasn't moved up or down, the vertical y-coordinate is 0. Therefore, the coordinates of D₁ are (8, 0).
