Question 1 - Page 124 Share your observations. Based on this infographic, answer the following: (i) The value of Karnataka is hidden. Can you guess what it could be? Looking at the color of Karnataka in the map It is purple It is darker than Bengal (+68) It is lighter than Kerala (+79) So, value of Karnataka is somewhere between +68 and +79 Question 1 - Page 124 (ii) Which are the top 5 states where rice is the most popular? We need to find the highest positive numbers (the deepest purples) Thus, top 5 are Manipur (+100), Nagaland (+99), Mizoram (+97), Tripura (+96), and Meghalaya (+95). Question 1 - Page 124 (iii) Which are the top 5 states where wheat is the most popular? We need to find the lowest negative numbers (the deepest yellows) Thus, top 5 are Rajasthan (-93), Haryana (-81), Punjab (-78), Madhya Pradesh (-60), and Delhi (-45). Question 1 - Page 124 (iv) List a few states where the preference between rice and wheat is more or less balanced.We are looking for numbers closest to 0 (the white "Prefer Both" zone on the scale). Good examples are Maharashtra (-15), Uttarakhand (-18), and Himachal Pradesh (-19).
