Question 1 - Page 81 What is a net of a regular tetrahedron? Which of the following are nets of a regular tetrahedron? A regular tetrahedron is a pyramid with a triangular base, made entirely of 4 equilateral triangles. Look closely at the 4 images given: Image 1 (Big Triangle): YES. It has 4 triangles. The outer 3 fold up to meet at a point. Image 2 (Weird shape): NO. Image 3 (Parallelogram): YES. This straight strip of 4 alternating triangles wraps around to form the shape perfectly. Image 4: NO. Count the triangles! This shape has 5 small triangles. A tetrahedron only has 4 faces, so this is an automatic failure Note: A regular tetrahedron has only 2 possible nets, which are Image 1 and Image 3
