Profile of an ObjectWhen we see a solid object, we are really seeing its profile from a specific viewpoint. Depending on our viewpoint, the outline of this profile can vary dramatically! Let’s look at some Examples Example 1: The Elephant We see different shapes of Elephant if we look at it from front, side or back – all these are profiles of the Elephant It's the exact same 3D solid, but the 2D profile changes drastically depending on where you stand. Example 2: The Cartoon The hole left in the wall is the exact outline (the outer edge) of the character's profile from that specific front-facing viewpoint. We see different profiles from the front and the top
