Making a Pie Chart with Values givenSuppose we are given a table showing grades scored by 40 students Now, we can convert this into a pie chart like this Let’s see how we do it To make a pie chart, we just need to convert the numbers into angles Since we are given numbers, we convert Number → Ratios → Angles And, our Total angle = 360° Now, our grades are Thus, we can write Angle of Grade A = (𝑵𝒖𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝑮𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒆 𝑨 𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔)/(𝑻𝒐𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝒏𝒖𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔) × 360° Let’s do this for all grades Thus, Angle of Grade A = 𝟏𝟐/𝟒𝟎 × 360° = 108° Angle of Grade B = 𝟏𝟎/𝟒𝟎 × 360° = 90° Angle of Grade C = 𝟖/𝟒𝟎 × 360° = 72° Angle of Grade D = 𝟔/𝟒𝟎 × 360° = 54° Angle of Grade E = 𝟒/𝟒𝟎 × 360° = 36° Angle of Grade E = 𝟒/𝟒𝟎 × 360° = 36° We first draw largest angle – 108° and then second largest and keep on drawing the next largest angle Let’s construct it Steps of Construction 1. Draw a circle of any radius. Mark Radius as OA. 2. Put protractor on OA and Draw largest angle i.e 108° 3. Now, put protector on OA, and draw the next largest angle i.e 90° 4. Put protractor on OC and mark next largest angle i.e 72° 5. Put protractor on OD and mark next largest angle i.e 54° 6. The remaining portion is 36° 7. Labelling the pie chart
