Question 5 One quarter of a number increased by 9 gives the same number. What is the number?Let Number be x Given that One quarter of a number increased by 9 gives the same number. So, we can write ๐‘ต๐’–๐’Ž๐’ƒ๐’†๐’“/๐Ÿ’ + 9 = Number Putting values ๐’™/๐Ÿ’ + 9 = x Putting ๐‘ฅ/4 right side, so it becomes negative We take x/4 right side because if we take x left side it will be (x/4 โ€“ x) โ€“ so it will be negative 9 = x โ€“ ๐‘ฅ/4 9 = x (1 โ€“ 1/4) 9 = x ((4 โˆ’ 1)/4) 9 = x ร— 3/4 x ร— ๐Ÿ‘/๐Ÿ’ = 9 Putting 1/2 on right side, so it becomes reciprocal x = 9 ร— 4/3 x = 3 ร— 4 x = 12 Thus, number is 12
