Example 10 Solve 28 (x + 4) + 300 = 1000.Solving 28 (x + 4) + 300 = 1000 Opening bracket 28 × x + 28 × 4 + 300 = 1000 28x + 112 + 300 = 1000 28x + (112 + 300) = 1000 28x + 412 = 1000 Taking 412 right side, so it gets subtracted 28x = 1000 – 412 28x = 588 Taking 412 right side, so it gets subtracted x = 𝟓𝟖𝟖/𝟐𝟖 x = 294/14 x = 147/7 x = 21 Thus, x = 21 is the solution
