Question 1 Which is greater: (a – b)2 or (b – a)2? Justify your answer.Let’s take an example For a = 5, b = 2 (a – b)2 = (5 – 2)2 = 32 (b – a)2 = (2 – 5)2 = (–3)2 = –3 × –3 = 3 × 3 = 32 Here, (–3)2 = 32 because When you square a negative number, it becomes positive! Thus, (a –b)2 = (b – a)2 ∴ Both are equal
