Are Opposite sides of a Rectangle parallel?In Deduction 4, We proved that ∠ 1 = ∠ 2 Now, For lines AB and CD, With transversal BD ∠ 1 = ∠ 2 i.e. Alternate angles are equal Since alternate angles are equal, Lines AB & CD must be parallel ∴ AB ∥ CD Similarly, we can prove AD ∥ BC Since AB ∥ CD and AD ∥ BC Thus, we can say that in a Rectangle Opposite sides are parallel
