Carpenters ProblemA carpenter needs to put together two thin strips of wood so that when a thread is passed through their endpoints, it forms a rectangle. The two wooden strips represent the diagonals of the rectangle. The Question: How must she connect these two strips so that the four corners of the frame form perfect 90° angles (a rectangle)? We are given that one diagonal is 8 cm. To solve this, the we need to answer these questions: How long should the strips be? (Length) Where should they cross? (Intersection point) What is the angle between them?
