Different Types of QuadrilateralsQUADRILATERALS Irregular quadrilateral (UK) or Trapezium (US) No sides are parallel Two pairs of adjacent sides are of equal length Trapezium (UK) or Trapezoid (US) Isosceles trapezium (UK) or isosceles trapezoid (US) One pair of opposite sides are parallel base and angles are equal Rectangle Four sides are of equal length Rhombus Four right angles Parallelogram Two pairs of parallel sides Square All four sides are of equal lengthDifferent types of Quadrilaterals are Trapezium: It has at least one pair of parallel sides. Isosceles Trapezium: A special trapezium where the non-parallel sides are equal, and the base angles are equal. Parallelogram: A quadrilateral where both pairs of opposite sides are parallel. Rectangle: A special parallelogram where all angles are 90° Rhombus: A special parallelogram where all four sides are equal in length. Square: The ultimate shape. It is simultaneously a Rhombus (all sides equal) and a Rectangle (all angles 90°). Let’s look at Rectangles first
