Question 1 - Figure it out (Page 128) Arrange the stick figure cutouts given at the end of the book or draw a height arrangement such that the sequence reads: (a) 0, 1, 1, 2, 4, 1, 5 (b) 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 (c) 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 (d) 0, 1, 0, 1, 0, 1, 0 (e) 0, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1 (f) 0, 0, 0, 3, 3, 3, 3 Our cutouts look like this Now let’s do one by one Question 1 (a) - Figure it out (Page 128) Arrange … such that the sequence reads: (a) 0, 1, 1, 2, 4, 1, 5 There are total 7 children, and we start from right to left 5 - Since right most child has 5 children taller than him. It means it is the 2nd smallest child, so it should be E 1 – Only one child is taller than him. So it should be D 4 – All four children in front of him are taller. Thus, it will be the smallest child. So it should be A 2 – Now, left with us are B, C, F, G. Out of 3 children in front, two are taller. So, it should be G 1 – Now, left with us are B, C, F. So, it should be B 1 – Now, left with us are C, F. Since F is taller, So, it should be C 0 – This is F Thus our arrangement looks like
