Question 13 (iii) Calculate and write the answer in scientific notation: (iii) The human body has about 38 trillion bacterial cells. Find the bacterial population residing in all humans in the world.Trillion has 12 zeroes So, Number of Bacterial cells in 1 human = 38 Trillion = 38 × 1012 = 3.8 × 10 × 1012 = 3.8 × 101 × 1012 Applying am × an = am+n = 3.8 × 101+12 = 3.8 × 1013 And, Human Population as on August 2025 is 8.2 Billion people And, Billion has 9 zeroes So, Human Population = 8.2 × 109 Now, we need to find bacterial population residing in all humans in the world Thus, Bacterial Population in all Humans = Number of bacteria in 1 human × Total Humans = 3.8 × 1013 × 8.2 × 109 = 38/10 × 1013 × 82/10 × 109 = 38 × 82 × 1/100 × 1013 × 109 = 3116 × 𝟏/𝟏𝟎𝟎 × 1013 × 109 = 31.16 × 1013 × 109 = 3.116 × 10 × 1013 × 109 = 3.116 × 101 × 1013 × 109 Applying am × an = am+n = 3.116 × 101 + 13 + 9 = 3.116 × 1023 Thus, there are 3.116 × 1023 bacterial cells
