Question 6 A farmer has a rectangular field having length 230 m and breadth 160 m. He wants to fence it with 3 rounds of rope as shown. What is the total length of rope needed?Now, Length of rope required = 3 × Perimeter of field = 3 × Perimeter of Rectangle Now, Length of rectangular field = 230 m Breadth of rectangular field = 160 m Perimeter of rectangular field = 2 × (Length + Breadth) = 2 × (230 + 160) = 2 × (390) Perimeter of rectangular field = 2 × (Length + Breadth) = 2 × (230 + 160) = 2 × (390) = 780 m Thus, Length of rope required = 3 × Perimeter of field = 3 × 780 m = 2340 m ∴ 2,340 m long rope is required for fencing
