Question 4 What would be the cost of fencing a rectangular park whose length is 150 m and breadth is 120 m, if the fence costs ₹ 40 per metre?Since the fence will be along the parks’ boundary To find cost of fencing, we need to find total boundary length And, Total boundary length = Perimeter of Rectangular park Finding Perimeter of Rectangular Park Length of rectangular park = 150 m Breadth of rectangular park = 120 m Perimeter of rectangular park = 2 × (Length + Breadth) = 2 × (150 + 120) = 2 × (270) = 540 m Thus, Total boundary length = Perimeter of park = 540 m Given that fence costs ₹ 40 per metre Thus, Cost of fencing 1 m length = Rs 40 Cost of fencing 540 m Breadth = 40 × 540 = Rs 21600 ∴ It will cost Rs 21,600 to fence the park Given that fence costs ₹ 40 per metre Thus, Cost of fencing 1 m length = Rs 40 Cost of fencing 540 m Breadth = 40 × 540 = Rs 21600 ∴ It will cost Rs 21,600 to fence the park
