Question 3 Find the length of the third side of a triangle having a perimeter of 55 cm and having two sides of length 20 cm and 14 cm, respectively.Let the triangle be ∆ABC where Perimeter = 55 cm, AB = 20 cm, BC = 14cm We need to find AC Now, Perimeter of ∆ABC = Sum of all sides Perimeter of ∆ABC = AB + BC + AC Putting values 55 = 20 + 14 + AC 55 = 34 + AC 55 – 34 = AC AC = 55 – 34 AC = 21 cm Thus, the third side is 21 cm
