Question 2 A rectangle having sidelengths 5 cm and 3 cm is made using a piece of wire. If the wire is straightened and then bent to form a square, what will be the length of a side of the square?Since Rectangule is bent into square using same wire, Their perimeters would be same. So, Perimeter of Rectangle = Perimeter of Square Finding Perimeter of Rectangle Given l = 5 cm, b = 3 cm Perimeter of rectangle = 2 × (Length + Breadth) = 2 × (5 + 3) = 2 × 8 = 16 cm Now, Perimeter of Square = Perimeter of rectangle = 16 cm Since Perimeter of Square = 4 × Side 16 = 4 × a 16/4 = a 4 = a a = 4 cm Thus, Side of square = 4 cm
