Getting fewest button clicksNow, we have a calculator like thisPress 5 times as 5 × 1000 = 5000 Remaining number = 5072 – 5000 = 72 And, we want to find numbers using the fewest clicks as possible Logic is: We have to use the largest buttons first Let’s try it out How can we get the numbers (a) 5072 using as few button clicks as possible?Cannot press since it is bigger Cannot press since it is bigger Cannot press since it is bigger Press 7 times as 7 × 10 = 70 Remaining number = 72 – 70 = 2 How can we get the numbers (b) 8300 using as few button clicks as possible?
