Patterns in Numbers Pattern is Something which repeats in a predictable way Number Pattern is Numbers which repeats in a predictable way i.e. numbers follow a specific relationship Let’s do some examples Arithmetic Pattern Arithmetic pattern is made by adding same value each time Example: 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17,… Can you find out the next two numbers? Cube Numbers Cube numbers are cube of all numbers Like 13, 23, 33, 43, 53, 63, … So, sequence (pattern) is 1, 8, 27, 64, 125, 216, … Can you find out the next two numbers? Geometric Pattern Geometric pattern is made by multiplying same value each time Example: 1, 3, 9, 27, 81, 243, … Can you find out the next two numbers? Triangular Numbers Triangular Number Sequence is generated from a pattern of dots that form a triangle. Like 1, 3, 6, 10, 15, … Square Numbers Square numbers are square of all numbers Like 12, 22, 32, 42, 52, 62, … So, sequence (pattern) is 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, … Can you find out the next two numbers? Fibonacci Numbers It starts with 0 and 1, and is formed by adding the previous two numbers Like So, sequence (pattern) is 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, .. Can you find out the next two numbers?
