 Powers of the Election Commission:

  1. The Election Commission is a strong, independent organization.

  2. On every facet of elections, the Election Commission makes autonomous decisions.

  3. Any party that violates the code of conduc t will be punished by the Election Commission.

  4. Government employees serving in election duties are governed by it.

  5. To avoid excessive state power abuse during elections, the Election Commission has the authority to require the government to abide by certain rules.
