  2. The current anti-poverty strategy of the government is based broadly on two planks
    (1) promotion of economic growth
    and (2) targeted anti-poverty programs.

  3. There is a strong link between economic growth and poverty reduction.

  4. The value of education is being emphasized across the country, which has led to an increase in literacy levels.

  5. Various schemes like -
    Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005,
    Swarnajayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY),
    Pradhan Mantri Gramodaya Yojana (PMGY) , and
    Prime Minister Rozgar Yojana (PMRY) has been introduced by the government with the aim to abolish poverty in the country.
