What are inscriptions? How do they help us know about ancient India?

- They would often be found in important places like temples, caves, pillars, or monuments.
- The inscriptions help us understand what life was like in ancient India.
- For example, if we find an inscription on a pillar that tells us about a king's victory in a battle, it helps us understand the politics and history of the time
- Inscriptions can also tell us about important religious practices and beliefs of the people living in ancient India.
