What is the IT act 2000? 

Answer:

The IT Act 2000 is an Act of the Indian Parliament that is the primary law in India dealing with cybercrime and electronic commerce . It was enacted to give legal recognition to electronic transactions, to facilitate the electronic filing of documents with government agencies, and to prevent cybercrime.

The IT Act 2000 p rovides legal validity and recognition to electronic documents and electronic signatures, and enables legally valid and enforceable e-contracts . It also defines various types of cyber crimes and prescribes penalties for them. It also provides for the establishment of a Controller of Certifying Authorities, a Cyber Appellate Tribunal, and a Cyber Regulations Advisory Committee.
