Let pen cost be y
So , 5x+7y=50.....(1)
7x+5y=46......(2)
Add the eqns
12x+12y=96
×+y = 8.........(3)
Similarly , subtracting the eqns (1) and (2)
2x-2y=-4
X-y=-2.....(4)
By eqn (3) and (4)
x=3 and y=5
