Misc 2 In each of the following, determine whether the statement is true or false. If it is true, prove it. If it is false, give an example . (i) If x ∈ A and A ∈ B, then x ∈ B Let A = {1, 2} Since 1 is an element of set , Let x = 1 , 1 ∈ {1,2} . Also, A ∈ B, i.e. whole set A is an element of set B Taking B = { {1, 2}, 3,4,5} We have to prove that x ∈ B ⊂ - is a subset A ⊂ B if all elements of A are in B ∈ - (belongs to) element in set But 1 ∉ { {1, 2}, 3, 4, 5} , i.e. 1 is not element of set B So, given Statement is False
