Carpel is the female reproductive organ of the plant.

The various parts of carpel and their functions are:

  • Stigma - Receiving the pollen grains from the anther of stamen. 
  • Style - Tube which connects stigma to the ovary to help in transport of pollen to the ovary.
  • Ovary - It protects the zygotes and developing seeds.
