Minimum number of bulb were sold on Wednesday & Saturday (8) (e) If one big carton can hold 9 bulbs. How many cartons were needed in the given week? Total bulbs = 12 + 16 + 8 + 10 + 14 + 8 + 18 = 28 + 18 + 22 + 18 = 86 Given that, 1 carton can hold 9 bulbs So, 9 bulbs can be in = 1 carton 1 bulb can be in = 1/9 carton 86 bulbs can be in = 86/9 cartons 86 bulbs can fit in = 9 5/9 cartons Since we cannot have cartons in fraction, we need 10 cartons
