Let’s take some examples

**
2.8 ÷ 2
**

= 2.8 ÷ 2/1

= 2.8 × 1/2

= 28/10 × 1/2

= (28 × 1)/(10 × 2)

= 14/10

=
**
1.4
**

**
3.6 ÷ 9
**

= 3.6 ÷ 9/1

= 3.6 × 1/9

= 36/10 × 1/9

= (36 × 1)/(10 × 9)

= 4/10

= 04/10

=
**
0.4
**

**
9.8 ÷ 100
**

= 9.8 ÷ 100/1

= 9.8 × 1/100

= 98/10 × 1/100

= (98 × 1)/(10 × 100)

= 98/1000

= 98/1000

= 0098/1000

=
**
0.098
**

**
12.96 ÷ 4
**

= 12.96 ÷ 4/1

= 12.96 × 1/4

= 1296/100 × 1/4

= 1296/4 × 1/100

= 324 × 1/100

= 324/100

=
**
3.24
**

**
0.05 ÷ 100
**

= 0.05 ÷ 100/1

= 0.05 × 1/100

= 005/100 × 1/100

= 005/100 × 1/100

= 5/100 × 1/100

= (5 × 1)/(100 × 100)

= 5/10000

= 00005/10000
