Distributivity means

  a × (b + c) = ab + bc

  a × (b − c) = ab − bc

Example :

2 × (5 + 7)

= 2 × 5 + 2 × 7

= 10 + 14

= 24

2 × (5 − 7)

= 2 × 5 − 2 × 7

= 10 − 14

= −4

 2/3×(5/6-9/6)

= (2/3×5/6)-(2/3×9/6)

= ((2  ×  5)/(3  ×   6))-((2  ×  9)/(3  ×   6))

= 10/18-18/18

= (10  -  18)/18

= (-8)/18

= (-4)/9

2 × (9/8+4/8)

= ("2 × "  9/8)+("2 × "  4/8)

= 9/4+4/4

= (9 + 4)/4

= 13/4
