The Real Challenge The cherry tree does not grow in a straight line from seed to success. It survives repeated damage, while Rakesh slowly learns that care, time and personal effort are what make the tree meaningful.

A cherry becomes a seed — Six-year-old Rakesh eats cherries on the way home in Mussoorie and keeps the last seed.
Grandfather gives one practical idea — Instead of storing the seed for 'luck', he tells Rakesh to plant it and put it to use.
