  • Words is a poem that tells us a simple truth: too many words do not help the heart . A few true words said from the heart are worth much more than a flood of empty words.
What the Poet Wants to Say
Empty Words
Like summer birds
they fly away, leaving nothing
Like weeds
useless, with no value
True Words
A little said, truly said
brings deep joy to the heart
Few but dear
a few kind words can cheer a lonely home
The Plant Example
A gaudy show
plants with lots of flowers
No fruit
but they give nothing useful
  • In the end, the poet says that showy words full of flowers look nice but give no fruit . The real message is: speak less, but speak from the heart .
