Question 2 The LCM of 3 and 24 is 24 (it is one of the two given numbers). (a) Find more such number pairs where the LCM is one of the two numbers. (b) Make a general statement about such numbers. Describe such number pairs using algebra.The LCM of 3 and 24 is 24 because 24 is a multiple of 3 And, since 24 is bigger than 3, it is the LCM Now, let’s do the questions (a) Find more such pairs: More such pairs could be 5 and 20 (LCM is 20) 6 and 18 (LCM is 18) 7 and 42 (LCM is 42) (b) General Statement: If the smaller number is a factor of the larger number, the LCM is the larger number. Using Algebra: If we have numbers 𝒂 and 𝒂 × 𝒏, then the LCM is 𝒂 × 𝒏.
