Question 9 (Page 180) A mixture containing potatoes, salt and sawdust has been given to you. Outline a stepwise procedure for separating each component from this mixture.Handpicking - Pick out the potatoes by hand because Potatoes are large and easily visible. Add water to the remaining mixture (salt + sawdust) - Stir well so that the Salt get dissolves in water and Sawdust floats on water. Decantation - Remove the floating sawdust by decantation Evaporation - Heat the salt solution. Water evaporates, leaving salt behind.
