Mass of MaterialCheck their weights mentioned on back This is called Mass What is Mass?It is the amount of matter present in an object It measures how heavy or light an object is It is measured in grams or Kilograms Mass is 200 g Higher Mass means Heavier Object Mass is 25 g Lower Mass means Lighter Object Are Mass and Weight same?Normally we use mass and weight interchangeably (Consider both as same) In Science, Mass and Weight are Different Mass means Amount of matter present in object Weight is Force of Gravity on Mass We will learn more about Weight in higher classes Activity 6.8Let us take three identical paper cups and fill each cup half with the provided materials. Fill one with water and mark it as ‘A’, second with sand and mark it as ‘B’, and the third with pebbles and mark it as ‘C’. Predict which one would be heavier and which one would be lighter by Weighing each cup using a balance and record the readings in your notebook.
