Question 2 - Page 130 Two siblings, Martin and Maria, were born exactly one year apart. Today they are celebrating their birthday. Maria exclaims that the sum of their ages is 112. Is this possible? Why or why not? Since Martin and Maria are born one year apart They will have Odd and Even ages Example: 51 & 52, 25 & 26 Now, Sum of Odd + Even = Odd + Even = Odd Since sum would be odd, 112 cannot be the sum ∴ Sum of ages 112 is not possible
