Question 1 (b) - Figure it out Page 144 Find the areas of the figures below by dividing them into rectangles and triangles.Our goal is to convert the shape into rectangle, squares and triangles. And, then find area Here, we converted our shape into 3 different shapes Red Triangle Height = h = 2 Base = b = 4 Area = 1/2 × b × h = 1/2 × 4 × 2 = 4 sq. unit Green Triangle Height = h = 2 Base = b = 4 Area = 1/2 × b × h = 1/2 × 4 × 2 = 4 sq. unit Blue Rectangle Length = l = 4 Breadth = b = 5 Area = l × b = 4 × 5 = 20 sq. unit Green Triangle Height = h = 2 Base = b = 4 Area = 1/2 × b × h = 1/2 × 4 × 2 = 4 sq. unit Therefore, Area of figure = 4 + 20 + 4 = 28 square unit
