Question 1 - Page 143 Use your understanding from previous grades to calculate the area of any closed figure using grid paper and— 1. Find the area of blue triangle BAD. __________ 2. Find the area of red triangle ABE. __________Area of Blue triangle ∆BAD In ∆BAD, Height = h = AD = 4 units Base = b = AB = 5 units So, Area of ∆BAD = 1/2 × b × h = 𝟏/𝟐 × 5 × 4 = 5 × 2 = 10 square unit Area of Red triangle ∆ABE In ∆BAD, Height = h = EF = 4 units Base = b = AB = 5 units So, Area of ∆ABE = 1/2 × b × h = 𝟏/𝟐 × 5 × 4 = 5 × 2 = 10 square unit
