- The oxygen of air which is consumed by animals and plants in respiration and in the burning of fuels is constantly replaced by plants through the process of photosynthesis.
- Photosynthesis is a process by which plants make their food and oxygen is produced. Plants also consume oxygen for respiration but they produce more of it than what they consume.
- It is obvious that animals cannot live without plants. The balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is maintained through respiration in plants and animals and also by photosynthesis.
