Subject:- Decline in reading habits among students .

It is a common knowledge that today's children have too many distractions and therefore reading books , other than textbooks ,has taken a back seat. Some schools have introduced abridged editions of classics , in each class , for self reading . Marks are alloted in the question paper to test the comphrehension of the novel . Parents , who are conscious , also do their bit . Nevertheless ,the fact that the general tendency of student is to depend on sources of entertainment other than books is also true . Today a child is drawn more towards the visual experience ,To wean the child away from these addictive sources of entertainment is a real challenge . However , a concerted effort make a children read even if they use the digital content could instil the reading habit in them .
