Question 9 A tap takes 15 seconds to fill a mug of water. The volume of the mug is 500 mL. How much time does the same tap take to fill a bucket of water if the bucket has a 10-litre capacity?First, we convert units so they match. Bucket capacity =10 Litres =ππ,πππ" " π¦π. Now, we calculate how many "mugs" fit in the bucket Number of mugs = (πππ‘ππ π£πππ’ππ)/(ππππ’ππ ππ 1 ππ’π) = 10,000/500 = 20 mugs Now, 1 mug is filled in = 15 seconds 20 mugs are filled in = 20 Γ 15 seconds = 300 seconds Converting into minutes = 300/60 = 5 minutes Hence, it will take π minutes.
