Describe a daily life situation where you think someone was following a scientific method. We can consider these two examples A pani-puri vendor noticing his sales was down yesterday Your mother baking cake but noticing it hasn’t risen up properly A pani-puri vendor noticing his sales was down yesterday -• What You See (Observation) The pani puri seller looked around and saw that not as many people were buying pani puri today compared to other days. Fewer customers came yesterday. ? Ask a Question The seller thought, "Hmm, why did less people come yesterday? What changed?" Make a Guess (Hypothesis) The seller made a guess. Maybe it's because the weather was cold yesterday, and people don't like cold pani puri when it's chilly outside. Try It Out (Test) To check his guess, the seller decides to see what happens today. He will see if more people come now that the weather is warmer, or if maybe something else is wrong. What Happened? (Result) He waited and watched. If more customers came today when it's warmer, it means his guess was right. If still only a few people come, it means the cold weather was not the reason. What You Learned (Conclusion) If more people came today, he learns that cold weather probably made customers stay away. If still few people came, he learns that he needs to think of a different reason why customers weren't coming and test that idea. (Result) Mommy finds out she forgot to add the baking powder. What You Learned (Conclusion) The cake didn't rise because the baking powder was missing, which shows it was a very important part!
