Question 6 Describe situations corresponding to the following algebraic expressions: (a) 8 × x + 3 × y (b) 15 × j – 2 × k(a) 8x+3y: This expression can represent the total cost of two different sets of items. For example, the total cost of buying 'x' pens at ₹8 each and 'y' pencils at ₹3 each. (b) 15j−2k: This can describe a situation where an amount is subtracted from another. For instance, if a shopkeeper has 15 cartons each with 'j' juice boxes and sells 2 cartons each with 'k' juice boxes, this expression represents the remaining juice boxes
