Question 1 (b) Write formulas for the perimeter of: (b) a regular pentagon (as we have learnt last year, we use the word ‘regular’ to say that all sidelengths and angle measures are equal) We know that Pentagon has 5 sides Here we talk about Regular pentagon Regular pentagon has all sides equal ∴ AB = BC = CD = DE = AE = a Now, Perimeter = Sum of all sides = AB + BC + CD + DE + AE = a + a + a + a + a = 5a
