Question 2 Given some line segment (π΄π΅) Μ whose length you do not know, construct (ππ ) Μ such that the length of (ππ) Μ twice that of (π΄π΅) Μ . We are given line segment (π΄π΅) Μ We need to draw (ππ) Μ twice as that of (π΄π΅) Μ i.e. (ππ) Μ = 2 Γ (π΄π΅) Μ Letβs follow these steps 1. Draw a line l mark point P on it 2. Measure (π΄π΅) Μ using compass 3. Now keeping compass opened the same length. We keep pointed end at point P, and draw an arc on line l So, (ππ) Μ = (π΄π΅) Μ 4. Now keeping compass opened the same length. We keep pointed end at point X, and draw an arc on line l So, (ππ) Μ = (π΄π΅) Μ And (ππ) Μ = 2 Γ (π΄π΅) Μ Thus, (ππ) Μ is twice that of (π΄π΅) Μ 4. Now keeping compass opened the same length. We keep pointed end at point X, and draw an arc on line l So, (ππ) Μ = (π΄π΅) Μ And (ππ) Μ = 2 Γ (π΄π΅) Μ Thus, (ππ) Μ is twice that of (π΄π΅) Μ
