Ex 12.3, 7 Can we have a rotational symmetry of order more than 1 whose angle of rotation is (i) 45ยฐ? Order of rotational symmetry = (360ยฐ)/(๐ด๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ ๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ก๐๐ฆ) = (360ยฐ)/(45ยฐ) = (72ยฐ)/9 Since, order of rotational symmetry is an integer Hence it is possible Ex 12.3, 7 Can we have a rotational symmetry of order more than 1 whose angle of rotation is (ii) 17ยฐ?Order of rotational symmetry = (360ยฐ)/(๐ด๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ก๐๐ก๐๐๐๐ ) = (360ยฐ)/(17ยฐ) = 21 (3ยฐ)/17 Since, order of rotational symmetry is in fraction This is not possible
