Solutions to CBSE Sample Paper - English Class 11

The Government has legalised the use of marijuana for recreational purposes. Write a debate in about 120-150 words either for or against this decision.

  • Marijuana can have medical benefits, such as relieving pain, nausea, and epilepsy.
  • Marijuana can also have harmful effects, such as impairing memory, judgment, and coordination.

Answer as written by the student:

Good afternoon, respected principal, teachers, and my fellow students. Today, I am going to speak against the topic: The Government has legalized the use of marijuana for recreational purposes.

I believe that this decision is a mistake and a threat to the health and safety of our society . Marijuana is not a harmless substance, but a dangerous drug that can have harmful effects on the brain, body, and behavior. Marijuana can impair memory, judgment, and coordination, which can lead to poor academic performance, risky decisions, and accidents. For example, marijuana can affect the ability to drive safely, increasing the risk of crashes and injuries. Marijuana can also cause addiction, dependence, and withdrawal symptoms, which can interfere with the normal functioning and well-being of users.
