Explain which two forces are responsible  for shaping the present geographic features  of India. Which continents were parts of  Gondwana land?

  • The Gondwana Land was an ancient supercontinent that broke up about 180 million years ago.   The continent eventually split into landmasses we recognise today Africa, South America,  Australia, Antarctica, the Indian subcontinent and the Arabian Peninsula. 
  • The two forces that are responsible   for shaping the present geographic features  of India are : Divergent and convergent movements.
  •  The position and size of the continents have been  changed due to the movements of these crustal  plates over millions of years. The present landform   features and reliefs of India are the part of this  process.
