CBSE Class 10 Sample Paper Science Solution - For 2023 Boards

Name the substances other than water, that are reabsorbed during urine formation. What are the two parameters that decide the amount of water that is reabsorbed in the kidney?

Answer:

Glucose , amino acids , other nutrients , salts and a lot of water are selectively re-absorbed as the urine flows through the tubule

The amount of water reabsorbed depends on:

  • Amount of excess water in the body - If the body already has a high amount of water , less water will be re-absorbed in the tubule and vice versa.
  • Amount of dissolved waste to be excreted - Tubules re-absorb large quantity of water if amount of waste in body is high
