1. Sexual Reproduction is the process of producing an offspring involving two parents .

1. Asexual reproduction is is the process of producing an offspring by a single parent .

2. Gamete (such as a sperm or egg cell) combines with another to produce a zygote .

2. There is no fusion of gametes and no mixing of genetic information

3. The offspring (child) thus shows variation due to the presence of characteristics of both parents , due to the fusion of gametes.

3. Only some amount of variation is seen due to errors in the DNA copying.

4.  For Example - Reproduction in humans, flowering plants, birds etc 4. For Example - Binary fission in amoeba, budding in yeast etc.
